These cakes have been my holy grail on Twitter for a while and I finally got the opportunity to review one, courtesy of Bakerdays. Their letterbox cake, as the name does suggest, is one that is packaged perfectly enough to slip through your letterbox.

The company I work for recently celebrated 10 years of business, so what better way to celebrate than with a Bakerdays creation? I created a simple design for the cake and let the website do the rest.

Along with the cake, we received a mini party kit which is a great touch. A few balloons, candles and party blowers later and it's safe to say I'm sold on Bakerdays and it's service. They're the first I've known to create a cake specifically to post through somebody's letterbox and a beautiful cake at that!

I opted for a standard vanilla sponge and icing emblazoned with my (hastily thrown together) artwork. The Bakerdays design team made it that bit more attractive by adding a little more star decoration and we added the candles they sent along with it.

The cake arrived super quickly after it had been ordered and Bakerdays creations stay fresh for up to two weeks, not that this cake lasted that long in the office! I'd definitely look into sending one of these out as a surprise for somebody, it's such a simple and quirky idea and doesn't everybody love cake?!

Find their range of cakes (both letterbox sized and otherwise) here.
